Smart casual is generally acceptable for an interview these days. Trousers are ok, jeans are not. So trousers with a smartish sweater or blouse. You want to look as if you made an effort but you don’t want to look as if you are going to a wedding. Do Google for advice about job interviews. Maybe a friend or relative could give you a practice run?
Eg what skills do you bring to the post? Why do you want to work here? What is your previous experience? Can you handle money? Are you good at dealing with people? Can you think of an example where you had to deal with a difficult person (not a 2 year old). Good luck. Let us know how you get on.

I always wear a LBD with a neutral-ish or contrasting jacket...

PristineCondition · 29/01/2020 22:01

Ive got plenty of smart jumpers and white blouse/shirt?
Will some black trousers from primark be ok? Ive no money to go elsewhere really.

Im feeling pretty confident i can do the roll but i admit the interview is scaring me do a practise sounds good. got to pull up my big girl pants.

Wear something comfortable and feels like you but definitely go for a smart casual look. Agree not jeans, go for trousers with top/blouse or a dress with tights and clean shoes/boots.

Cravingcake · 29/01/2020 22:09

So long as your clothes are clean then they won’t know where they from. Primark will be fine.

AlCalavicci · 30/01/2020 10:19

I agree with PP a smart look is important, black / dark blue trousers/ skirt and lighter blouse / shirt ( you don't want to look like you are going to a funeral )
Avoid anything that has got a lot of patterns or frills on it.
Primark or even charity shop stuff is absolutely fine but make sure it fits well nothing looks worse than a nice blouse or pair of trousers look like they're going to pop at the seams any second.
Try to buy something that doesn't need ironing as it will get creased when your sat in the car or on the bus and may end up looking like you slept in it as the last blouse I bought did thanks M&S

Good luck , let us know how you get on .

Congrats. I was about to say I interview people for jobs all the time and smart casual is usually fine. Not many wear jackets or blazers these days, just a smart top and trousers or a dress and cardigan. This obviously varies in other professions where more formal dress is expected.

I look more at things like having well groomed hair, nails etc. We can always advise people on how to dress for roles
