Just found out I've got a job interview Grin

It is on Thursday so not exactly much time to prepare and I'm so out of practise, got nothing to wear etc. I also don't have much in the way of experience.

It's for a part time retail assistant in a big homeware store.

Give me your tips!!!

4 tips....

Find lots of example interview questions and practice with someone else asking you them. This will build your confidence and stop you stumbling over words.

Always accept a drink if offered so you have chance to take a sip whilst considering how to answer.

Prepare 3 considered questions about the role or organisation.

Do your research on the company! You must must do this!

Good luck!

Good luck I’m sure you’ll be great! You’ve taken the first step which is more than I’ve done☹️. Research the company values and think positive. Wear something you feel confident in, I find that can make a huge difference, when you feel confident you act confident.

You can do it😀.

This was me one year ago!! And, I got the job!! You can do this.
Do not actually worry, actually think you are good enough as you are.
When you first enter, have the most confidence you can muster up, look the interviewers in the eye, smile, and say your most confident "good morning/afternoon".....practise this in your bathroom, walking in and looking in the mirror.
Actually be yourself, dont try too hard.
Great advice re a drink, above, I did this, but realised as I took a drink, I was so nervous I was shaking and thought the interviewers would notice!! They didn't.
As others said, do your research. Dont stress over it, just find out a little about the company.
Prepare a question to ask, as they will probably ask if you have one, dont say no!! My job was for a fixed term so I asked if there would be opportunities to extend (there was, I got one) and what sort of training could I have access to?
Very best of luck xx

Best of luck, that is very exciting!

Practice lots of interview questions (google for ones relevant to the role) and take some deep breaths before going in.

Come back and tell us how it went - fingers crossed for you!
