Cuddly cushion with a dim light on a timer?

I’m looking for something very specific, and wondered if anyone on MN could help. It needs to have a very dim light which goes off after around 15 minutes (if it slowly dimmed over the time that would be the best) and ideally be cuddly.

Go Glo Pals used to work, but we’ve gone through about five as they fail really fast, plus the current options don’t appeal to dd.

Has anyone found something that would work? Ideally dd would like a fleecey/fluffy cushion, I think, but a cuddly toy of some sort would probably be OK as long as it wasn’t too babyish (she’s 10).

Maybe a Grofriend? gro.co.uk/product/grofriends/

There are three light settings that turn off after 30mins. I got Bennie the Bear for my DD and it's brilliant. I don't think 10 is too old for "babyish" stuffed toys at all. I slept with them till my teens and I still collect the odd plushie if it looks really cute Grin

Thanks! Those Grofriends are the right sort of thing, but I fear she may think they’re too babyish, given the cry sensor etc. But I will give them a try.

I’ve googled some more and found a brilliant fluffy cushion which lights up, but unfortunately it doesn’t have a timer - otherwise it would be perfect.

We've got a fluffy star cushion but it doesn't have a timer you can set. It's on and then turns off when it goes through the cycle if that makes sense.

Ooh, CantStandMeow, can you link to it? If the cycle is anywhere between 10 and 30 minutes, that could definitely work.

Lidl do an owl, DS2 was given one last Christmas. Yes it has a cry sensor, but it doesn't say that anywhere on the animal. It's just a noise sensor really.

TheLongDarkBreakfastTime · 28/01/2020 14:42

I will keep an eye out on the Lidl website, but they’re a bit of a pain for doing things that are brilliant and then not again for a year, by which time I’ve stopped checking...

Here's a forum post about it, looks like it was still there last January - you might be lucky, if they re-ran it last year? MIL got it before Christmas 2018.

Possibly you could just find a small LED mood light with time out - the kind of thing you'd get in B&M or Wilko - and insert it into any pillow? It should shine out through one layer of fabric and they don't tend to get warm (so wouldn't be a fire hazard).

Like this kind of charming thing Confused

Could you get one that glows, but doesn't have a timer, and put it on a timer yourself? Like the timers people use to turn lights on and off when they go on vacation?

CatOnABeanbag · 28/01/2020 16:16

My children have got Bright Light Pillows. They don't dim, though- they're either on or off.

It's this one, but it only lasts 5 minutes.

Lots of good ideas, thank you! The Snuggle Buddies one looks good, but if that doesn’t work then DIY may be the way to go (though I’m a complete klutz, so that’s definitely the last resort!).
