Hello

I'm after some recommendations for really good, funny series that you've watched recently on Netflix or Prime? It's been ages since I've seen something which has given me full belly laughs.

I'm not too keen on slapstick comedy or animations, but open to anything else.

Thanks

We're watching Sex Education and Derry Girls at the moment. Loving both of them, especially Derry Girls.

Pieceofpurplesky · 25/01/2020 17:47

It's always sunny in Philadelphia and Friday Night Dinner in addition to the two from the PP

Pikachusmum · 25/01/2020 17:51

Going through The Good Place at the moment. Surreal but funny at the same time.

Friday night dinner. Hilarious.

OverthinkingThis · 25/01/2020 17:54

Bridget and Eamon - it's on Prime and it's incredibly funny.

yogo · 25/01/2020 17:54

It's always sunny js the best thing on Netflix.

midwestcharm · 25/01/2020 17:56

I think Derry Girls is one of the funniest things I have ever watched. (I was also delighted to see a Xmas cupboard as DH has always maintained I must be the only person in the world to behave like that)
I also enjoyed the Good Place.
Marvelous Miss Maisel I think is also worth a watch.

Mandarinfish · 25/01/2020 17:59

Romesh Ranganathan's travel series.

spiderlight · 25/01/2020 18:01

Santa Clarita Diet on Netflix is absolutely brilliant.

Blinkme · 25/01/2020 18:02

The middle on prime. Its a really good journey.

PootleandPosey · 25/01/2020 18:02

Afterlife

Motherland

RitaMills · 25/01/2020 18:04

Another vote for It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I’m rewatching Peep Show... still as funny as I remember.

DarkDarkNight · 25/01/2020 18:06

Another vote for Derry Girls. I liked GameFace and Man Down too, bu5 Man Down is probably a bit slapstick so you may not like it.

saraclara · 25/01/2020 18:08

Archer, on Netflix. Funny, clever, great characters, and I love the style of the animation.

Squishedpickle · 25/01/2020 18:08

Have seen and enjoyed Sex Education and the Good place, though found them gently entertaining perhaps rather than full on funny. I love Friday Night Dinner. Will definitely have a look at some of the others, thanks for the tips

Oops. Just saw you don't like animations. I'd still give Archer a try though.

TeddyIsaHe · 25/01/2020 18:10

Derry Girls is amazing.
Rick and Morty is VERY funny if you like that style of humour.
Peep Show is a classic.
Ditto Black Books/Green Wing

Shannith · 25/01/2020 18:11

Sex Education. Funny, clever and sweet (despite being about err sex)

Fantastic young actors, especially the guy who plays Eric.

I'm not sure why I was put off it for so long...maybe the hype?

Anyway, it's the real deal. Sort of Derry Girls with shagging!

cantthinkofanythingwitty · 25/01/2020 18:19

Greg Davis magnificent beast

FreakyToes · 25/01/2020 18:24

Schitt's Creek on Netflix is brilliant. Episodes are only 25 mins long and it's easy watching.

YakkityYakYakYak · 25/01/2020 18:27

Always Sunny is my favourite at the moment.

Broad City is brilliant if you can find it, might only be on Sky.

Horcrux · 25/01/2020 18:28

End of the F@#king World
Fleabag
Outnumbered

nibdedibble · 25/01/2020 18:34

Bit left field but on iPlayer there’s a wildlife programme with robot animals. It’s narrated by David Tennant. Gave me some very easy laughs recently.

MargotMoon · 25/01/2020 18:39

Ali Wong's two stand up shows (pure filth)
Victoria Wood As Seen on TV
The Trip
Wine Country
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

All on Netflix
