Your experiences please.

I just need to know what to expect please.

I’ve attended 3 ‘on site’ before. This is my first ‘at home’.

Thankyou.

My husband had his last one at home and it was basically just the exact same as in the centre just without the having to go there. His pip was just up for renewal though and we don't have to go for a meeting this time they have renewed it for 2 years having read the form, weight off our minds for a wee while at least. Good luck!

Thankyou.

Did they make any judgements about the state of the house or look at/for aids? I have visions of them distracting me while they go noseying - I won’t be able to chase after them!!

I can’t help but think they’re trying to ‘trip me up’. I have no concerns but my mind is buzzing that they’re watching me the whole time now! I suffer massively with anxiety and low confidence now since this illness has set in.

This one will be so much easier for me & my husband, that’s for sure.

They just were in our living room and didn't look in any other room. We live in a flat so you can see most of it anyway when you come in but my husband did make sure to have some of his aids lying out I'm not going to lie 😂 Just remember it's your worst day that you are talking about. My husband applied 5 times before he finally got accepted and then we had a change of condition and that's when we had them to the house and to be fair my husband was having a horrendous time. My husbands condition is one that has flares so he's always stressed that he will be having a "good" day when it's meeting time.

My son had a home assessment but it was for learning rather than physical needs. He was so stressed at being asked questions about his needs that it was obvious he needed PIP. The assessor was apologetic and lovely.

Thankyou for replying.

We’re now in a bungalow because of my condition and I use crutches, I have had 2 assessments ‘on site’ before over the last 4 years. This is my third assessment but my first at home.

All assessors have always been so nice so far and my condition has knocked my confidence and I suffer with anxiety now ...maybe that’s why I’m dreading this one.
