Short break in north of England

Any suggestions for a short break in early spring with DC? Done York and both west and east coast previously.

Manchester is a great city to visit with children now?

Or Chester.

Newcastle - walk down the quayside. If you like museums Hancock or Centre for Life.For younger children 7 stories. If it’s a nice day a walk in Jesmond Dene and maybe see the little farm and aviary.

Gateshead across the river has Baltic modern art gallery.

I would do North Yorkshire- fountains abbey, newby hall, stockeld park, flamingo land and light water valley to name a few child friendly attractions.

West Yorkshire area, royal armouries, national media museum, Yorkshire sculpture park, lots of other smaller attractions and city parks.

Thanks for the suggestions. We've done some of those places already, including the Lakes but we've not been up Newcastle way.

Loads a to do in Newcastle and easy to get to Tynemouth for the beach (and Riley's Fish Shack).

How old are the children?
