Cooking pasta in a slow cooker?

We don't have much of a kitchen at the moment so the slow cooker and the microwave are getting some heavy use! I want to try doing a pasta bake in the slow cooker but not sure how it would turn out. Anyone done it? Was it a fail or a success?

We did a lasagne last week - it was OK but where the pasta layers had overlapped it was still quite hard. Can you cook the pasta first?

why would you? Even if you had to boil water in the microwave. Terrible idea

I do bolognaise and lasagne in the slow cooker. It's fine. I find if anything it goes very 'soft' rather than hard. But then it is left for about 10 hours.

I do find that the bottom can burn a bit if I've not added enough liquid. I always try and make sure that all the pasta is covered.

I'd give it a go. You've nothing to loose really apart from some pasta bake.

I have made a very simple veggie lasagne with cheese on top. I didn't have a hot plate even (was waiting for new cooker) so mixed tinned tomatoes, mushrooms, garlic and herbs and seasoning, layered with lasagne sheets and cheese and left on low all day. It was sloppy but quite nice! That would prob work with other pasta shapes. I image wholewheat would be good as less soft.
