I've just bought a food flask to take to uni with me. I was spending £8+ a day last semester and I can't afford to keep doing it.

Planning on soups/stew, 'jacket potatoes' (frozen mash, cheese, butter, ham, other toppings), ragu sauce and pasta, porridge.

Anything else I can try?

Thank you

you can use it to keep hotdogs warm (the ones you get out of the tin, like the Ye Olde Oak American ones). cook the hot dogs, and whilst they are cooking pour boiling water into the flask, and screw the lid on tight. leave the water in the flask for around 20 mins, and then tip it out, put fresh boiling water in and pop the hot dogs in the fresh water. bring a hotdog bun in a Tupperware box, and a couple of ketchup sachets.

you can also put yogurt inside (buy the big pots to save money). there are some topping ideas here

Casseroles of pulses, like beans, chickpeas, or lentils.

Chili con carne or vegetable chilli, and curries.

Homemade.pot noodle. Cram the flask with thinly sliced veg, noodles and a stock cube and then 5 mins before you want to eat, add boiling water and screw the lid on..leave for 5 mins and done! I've also added thinly sliced frozen meat and it has been fine

Tagine in the food flask with pitta bread taken separately to dip.
Falafel/lamb koftas in the food flask, and a wrap or pitta bread taken separately.
Chilli with a separate bag of Doritos
Curry with a separate naan bread to dip in it
