Hi as title says, can anyone tell me rough monthly cost please?
Website wants you to leave details, don't want a sales pitch/tour for something I can't afford. Thank you to anyone who can answer.

What can you afford? Really if they say £60 a month you should say ‘oh no I won’t pay more than £30’ stick to your guns.

Beacauseisaidso · 20/01/2020 22:54

Pic, didn't know it was the sort of thing you could barter! Just assumed set rates. Thank you

Probably varies by area. I seem to remember it being 200-odd on a 3 month contract.

Beacauseisaidso · 20/01/2020 23:04

Thank you, that's v helpful.

BuI think they do different memberships, though. My direct debit is £165 and includes racquets and spa.

MakeLemonade · 20/01/2020 23:17

Varies area to area. Think around here, Home Counties, for off peak it’s about £95, full membership £135 and then extra for racquets but not sure how much.

Mummy0ftwo12 · 20/01/2020 23:20

about 1/3rd more expensive than normal membership

Yeah they will just say 'thanks, goodbye' to that wee suggestion.

I have a friend who throws £120 a month at them - no idea why, I pay the council £35 for much the same but scruffier Grin

Likethebattle · 20/01/2020 23:25

@JohnVirgo weird that i got a year for £40 trying that wee trick.

JohnVirgo · 20/01/2020 23:28

weird that i got a year for £40 trying that wee trick.

Why is it weird?

It is more weird that you suggested to OP she tells them she can't afford and to offer half but didn't bother to mention that you got a fabulous deal from them.

JoJoSM2 · 21/01/2020 08:56

A year at DL for £40 Hmm I’d need to see it to believe it.

notanotherjigsawpiece · 21/01/2020 09:03

A friend pays £79 a month which includes her 2 children, but she gets discount as an NHS employee

BourbonAndTea · 21/01/2020 09:20

David Lloyd here is £136 a month for a peak full membership (single). I left when it was £106 a month and joined an independent local gym for £29.95 a month.

If you are happy to pay a lot for something you can get far cheaper, do it, but otherwise go somewhere else. It was over-rated in my opinion (at least my local DL was)..

TeenPlusTwenties · 21/01/2020 09:46

Ours costs around £2000 a year for 2 adults and a teen, non rackets.
Expensive, but we almost always get a swimming lane to ourselves when we go, the changing rooms are spotless, the showers work, the lockers are a good size and where you need them, and a nice lounge for relaxing afterwards.

Princessleila86 · 21/01/2020 16:07

DL member here our local club is around £60 a month that was based on a 12 month membership and partners corporate discount

DL consider themselves a premium health club there is no "well i am only looking to spend 30 a month"...... you will be sent on your way

they dont like openly displaying their pricing system (probably because they are worried about scaring people away) also every club has its individual pricing model

the only way to get the price is to be booked in with a sales rep who i will warn you will be on commission and will try to oversell you

before doing anything i would look into your local clubs facilities in detail as ours has the bare minimum hence why its one of the cheapest to join in all honesty ours isnt worth £60 a month because there is nothing there

fortunately i travel the country a lot and am able to use other clubs which have "spa retreats" which is the only thing keeping me from cancelling at the moment

I’m a DL member and I’ve just cancelled my DS’s membership. They have been ringing me trying to get me to rejoin him.... for a higher price! Great incentive!

JohnVirgo · 21/01/2020 19:39

Do the 23 different options include a year for £40? Grin

I pay £46 per month for full access to my local DL, no racquets or anything though. That's the standard rate for ours with no haggling. It really depends on the club and its location.

Butterymuffin · 21/01/2020 19:55

I assume that poster meant 40 a month but for the period of a year.
