I feel absolutely thick as shit right now and I’m pretty sure my brain has melted!

If the leg of one of these stools is 5cm around then what size of these do I need?!

How do I find the diameter of a circle

Just measure across it. It's roughly 1/3.

QueenOfOversharing · 19/01/2020 21:40

Circumference is pi x the diameter(3.14....)

QueenOfOversharing · 19/01/2020 21:42

Sorry. So diameter is circumference / pi

NeedAnExpert · 19/01/2020 21:42

D = c/pi

IHadADreamWhichWasNotAllADream · 19/01/2020 21:42

Circumference = 5cm = PiD => D = 5/pi cm

candycane222 · 19/01/2020 21:43

If you really want to be precise you can divide by 3.14! (Pi) so 5/3.14 = about 1.6 cm diameter

But pickawchew has it right for all intents and purposes

HolyheadBound · 19/01/2020 21:43

OP if it makes your life easier, we have those chairs and I’ve just got those cut out seat pads, and stuck them to the Little black feet on the bottoms. They’ve been there 4 years and are still doing the job

BrieAndChilli · 19/01/2020 21:43

Think you need to get the 16mm

KurriKurri · 19/01/2020 21:45

16 mm - Circumference over pi

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 19/01/2020 21:51

HolyheadBound thank you! We tried those and the kept falling off! (And picking up dirt from the floor #slattern)

Thanks all!! That’s incredibly helpful! (And I’ve finally had a reason to use Pi, my year 11 maths teacher is v smug right now I’m sure!)

I use Pi all the time for scaling cakes up and down. Grin

NeedAnExpert I am disappointed you don't use Pi to scale up pie.
