What can I do with my good, old, carseat?

I don't have any chums with LOs in need of a Britax Isofix stage 3 car seat. And as it's the sort of thing that parents tend to want to either
a) buy new or
b) receive from a trusted friend or relative
it is currently cluttering up our spare room looking expensive and unwanted.

Any suggestions on how to find a good home for it? It's even relatively smushed-biscuit free...
I really don't want to take it to the tip.

How old? If only a few years old you could try putting it on a free cycle type website. If 5 years or more I would just take to the tip.

Agree, over 5 years it needs to be destroyed (tips how on line), otherwise Facebook buying/selling page detailing its age etc.

I sold mine for a tenner on local selling page

Text your class whatsapp group? we did that the other day and someone had a sister who needed one.

People do buy them second hand. You could also contact your health visitor and ask her if she knows anyone who needs one and maybe can't afford to buy new.

A car seat isn't unsafe after 5 years. If it's been bashed around and heavily used then it might be fit for the tip but I'd say a highback booster can go through a few children before it would be unsafe. Check the polystyrene parts, if they are dented or cracked I'd chuck it.

Thanks all.
It is over 5 years old, but has only been used by one kid, in one car, with out incident and is in perfect nick. Apart from a bit of fading & very light staining.
Not been at the current junior school long so don't really know any of the mums. Might try the Facebook route.

Facebook or local children's clothes bank if you have one.

The fire brigade like them to practice with in older cars in pretend scenarios of having to cut roofs off vehicles, rescue people etc.
