Any Travel Agents around? What are my rights in this situation?

I would be really grateful for advice from someone in the TA business in the UK.

I booked a cruise today with P&O cruises with a High Street travel agent. I chatted with the TA about the cruises we had done in the past with this company when we had younger children. I stipulated the type of cabin I wanted because of an experience we had had back in 2015 on one of the ships; I did not want the same type of cabin this time.

I paid in full for the holiday because it is in April.

When I got home my DH asked if she had asked for our Portunas number so we could claim 5% loyalty discount for being a past passenger.

Oops I said, no she didn't ask me.

We phoned a chatted to the TA and she is enquiring with P&O on Monday to see if we can get the discount.

My question is this, if she says "no" what are my options?

I think that the TA should have asked me if I was a past member and had a Portunas number so I could get a 5% discount over and above the price I was quoted. In fact, she would have known I was because of the information I had given her about our family cruises and the issue with the cabin in 2015. If she says "no", can I insist on a reduction in the cruise to the value of 5%?

Is there legislation I can quote, regulations, etc?

I would be grateful for some advice so I can take this phone call with confidence on Monday.

Not a travel agent but there is no rules/regulations or law that you are entitled to a discount.

Update: Arranged to have £66 refunded to my card today. That'll cover drinks bill for the holiday Smile.

Good to see a happy ending! It's so frustrating to miss out on something like that.
