I’m starting a new job on Monday, office environment and I am planning on taking lunches in with me to save money. I’ve worked from home for years so never had to think about it too much.

Give me your easy ideas, healthy as possible please! Not sure if there’s a kitchen or not but I would imagine so!

Thanks

I take a salad of some kind most days.
The last couple of days have been an orzo pasta salad but other days a tuna Nicoise, goats cheese, red pepper and spinach, prawn, chilli and rocket, tabbouleh, Greek salad etc.
Never get bored, generally open my fridge and see what’s there to throw together in the morning unless I’ve made something in advance (like this week).
I had gotten into the habit of buying lunches out every day and it was getting very unhealthy!
We have a fridge, microwave and a toaster.
Sometimes I’ll put some smoked salmon and cream cheese in the fridge and bring in some bagels which does me for a few days too.
Others bring in soup or leftovers (neither of which I like!).
Basically, bring in what you like to eat.

Depends if there's a microwave or not. Cold, falafel wrap with salad and rice. Cold meat salad, potato salad. If hot, soups, curries, casseroles, leftovers etc.

On the 1st few days I'd take sandwiches in case there is no microwave/ it's manky / there is a half hr queue to use it.
Then if there is one you can use when making your evening meal make a bit extra and take it with you for lunch .
Obviously this idea doesn't really lend itself to sausage, chips and beans but works well for curries stews bolognese chillies and even some pies.
Don't take anything smells too strong so maybe not Currys on first week and certainly do not ever microwave any fish
If you got somewhere safe to keep it I would recommend a couple of tins of Chunky soup like Heinz big Soup varieties that you can Stash in your drawer or cupboard for the days when you've forgotten your lunch haven't been able to cook any extra or just don't fancy it
And although people knock them an awful lot there's nothing wrong with a pot noodle every now and then.
I would also recommend you get a very distinctive lunch box so people can't " accidentally " eat your lunch
Your own cup might be a good idea as well you do not want to find yourself using Janet's mug by mistake . A travel mug you can use on the way in would be a good start until you can figure out the dynamics of your office

I love leftovers for lunch, or wraps. Or cheese & crackers! Soups too.
