Failed nursery eye test

My 4 year old failed her nursery eye test and we've been referred to the optician, can't get an appointment for a few weeks.

Does anyone know what this means (from the letter)?

Vision - R 0.150. L 0.170

Kay pictures crowded is ticked

I've tried google but couldn't find anything! Thanks

Are there any + or - beside the numbers?

Kay pictures crowded is the method of testing using pictures

Either very slightly shortsighted (-) or long sighted (+) depending on which symbol is next to the numbers.

Both prescriptions are low so possibly glasses but fairly weak lenses.

Thank you very much, that's very helpful. The numbers definitely don't have a - / + in front. Thanks

The numbers aren't a prescription (shortsighted or longsighted) - they are a measure of what your DD can read on a chart using a scale called LogMar (Opticians often use a different measure called Snellen,in which 'normal' is 6/6. Or 20/20 if you are American Grin, equivalent to 0.0 LogMar)
As dementedpixie said Kays Pictures crowded is a test using pictures instead of letters.
Wait and see what happens at the eye exam with the Optometrist - your DD may need glasses but some children don't do very well at their first vision test for no obvious reason.
