Ds is 2 and won’t eat

When he does it’s not healthy. He possibly has some kind of SEN we are not sure yet but he has a lot of difficulties

I can’t get vitamins into him and what he eats is awful but I’m at the point so I just be grateful to get some calories in ? I’m stressed and worried his long term health will suffer

Maybe worth looking at Arfid, even if it’s not that it can help you get some possible strategies to help.

Ds is autistic and has arfid, you are spot on with the calories in being the most important, he will get a lot of the nutrients he needs from the milks so I would keep them.

Dentist wise ask for a referal to your local specialist dentist, they understand the issues and work to make them much more relaxed before even trying to look in the mouth.

Ds is an extreme case and is now tube fed but actually after the initial worry it has actually been a godsend. A big part of our issue was the foods he did eat where low calorie and not much of them a typical day orally for him is 1 hash brown, 1 sausage, an apple and a bowl of strawberries and grapes.

As hard as it is try not to let him see your worried and risk making an issue of out eating, if you can leave new foods around to possibly tempt him then that’s always good

Check out the Division of Responsibility model and join the Mealtime Hostage group on Facebook, there are thousands of us in the same boat. My DS1 was a very restricted eater, at one point he would only eat chips and peas. He's now 17 and you would never have known he had a problem with food. We used the Division of Responsibility model to gradually broaden the number and type of foods he would eat. I cried the first time he ate a mushroom, now he actually likes them! It's slow but it works.

I don't know if they're age suitable but I used to get multi vits that look like gummy jelly babies. the kids used to love them (and Dh!)
