Would my insurance be invalidated?

On my insurance, I put my place of work is at a public office car park which it is, however parking at my work is ridiculously limited and as I start work later, there's never any space for me to park! So I have to park 5 mins walk away on a street. This is happening more often now so I don't even know what to do. Should I call and say I park on a street as 9/10, I do because there's just no space. I always want to do the right thing but at the same time is it a bit ridiculous to worry about something like this? Blush

I'd update your insurance, personally I just don't think it's worth the risk.
If you park on the street 9/10.. that's your where you park.

Nothing will invalidate your insurance.

At worst, if you (or someone else) made a claim, they may refuse to accept liability.

But parking somewhere different from where you said you do is fine. They just may not pay out in the event of a claim.

People get confused because sometimes the police seize cars for no having insurance if used for business for example. But that's using your vehicle for something which requires a specific cover (business) not general driving about.

I bet there are millions of people happily driving to work every day with no idea that their insurance wouldn't cover them in the event of an accident because they don't have "commuting" as a specific cover on their police.

Social, Domestic, and Pleasure is just that. If you have an accident on your commute your company will not pay a penny. You're on your own.
