Dresser in kitchen or dining room?

I have inherited a lovely pine dresser. It's a decent size and would fit in a couple of rooms.

Would you put it in your kitchen and use it everyday? Or would you put it in a dining room, displaying your finest china etc?

Dining room for fear of grease!

Do you ever use your best china? If you do, it’s not handy keeping it in the dining room. I used to do this and ended up not using it!

To be honest, as it’s pine, it’s probably not worth a fortune. Protect it with a suitable finish and put it in the kitchen. Keep everyday items on it and then it gets used. It was intended to be used if it’s pine. If it was fine mahogany, walnut or rosewood, that would be different.

I use rarely my best china. I'm going to put the dresser in my kitchen and use it every day. My GM had this in her kitchen. I have fond memories of the clutter she stored. Fruit, vegetables, pickles, plates, glasses, buns cooling on a plate, homemade wine, birthday cards, Toby jugs, candles, a fan scale and occasionally a basket of puppies or kittens snug in the bottom drawer. The drawer would be half open and if as a child I bent down to take a peep, I would see pairs of eyes staring up at me. Lovely.
