Dealing with an incontinent cat

Hi all,

Our cat is only 8 years old and she seems to be incontinent. I'm taking her to the vets next week but was looking for some advice.

I've increased the number of litter trays and have also put down puppy training pads that she uses.

However she is still peeing on/in everything, dogs food bowl, dogs bed and even found her peeing in my son's potty. Anything fabric isn't safe. She is continuously peeing as in she'll use the litter tray upstairs and then use downstairs straight after.

What else can I do to deal with the peeing everywhere. Hopefully the vet will be able to work out why

She may have a UTI, so taking her to the vets would be the best bet.

If she is suddenly starting to pee everywhere that is a sign of a UTI

A urinary tract infection can become quite serious quite quickly in cats, might be better to bring her to the vets over this weekend.
Hope it all works out for you and your catSmile

Sounds like you cat needs to see a vet sooner than next week.

I agree it's UTI and you need to take her to the vets ASAP. My cat passed away from this before i managed to get her to the vets as she saw her carrier and ran off so we missed our appointment.

Pets at home usually have a vets service on a Sunday full of pets who’ve taken ill at the weekend.
