Where to buy wedding dress?

I have essentially become my friend's wedding planner as she gets overwhelmed at the thought of doing any of it herself and is just about the most indecisive person ever. I need to basically choose a few dresses and present her with them for her to choose from, as the thought of dress shopping is too daunting for her.

I didn't have much of a clue when choosing my own dress, so I'd like to explore some different designers and try to find her something beautiful.

If anyone has any suggestions of designers/websites/shops etc, I'd be hugely grateful.

She's tall, a size 8 and doesn't particularly like strapless, if that's any help!

It might be helpful for shops if you share which area of the country you live in.

Ah yes, whoops, were in the Midlands. But to be fair if there's somewhere people think is amazing, we could probably make the journey.

A bit out there but as a size 8 there will be lots of high street dresses which will be suitable eg monsoon.

Your Wedding Shop in Birmingham is wonderful, I got mine there and they were great - so friendly and a really wide selection.

Wed2B!

Scrap my idea. I’ve just looked on the monsoon website and the dresses are vile.

If you are happy to travel to London it's worth going to the Pronovias Flagship store on Old Bond St. they have a huge variety there.

Thank you for the ideas! Birmingham isn't too far at all and we enjoy days in London too. Thanks for letting me know not to look there @Selfsettling3 Grin

Oxfam Bridal shops are good - you can find some lovely dresses for a few hundred pounds and the money goes to charity. There's one in Coventry. The other thing I'd suggest is helping her narrow down the choices by thinking about what sort of dress shape will suit her.

What’s her budget?

Eliza Jane Howell in London is absolute heaven if she wants anything beaded/sequins/feather etc

I think something fitted would be best, we both agree that the mermaid style that's been popular for a while looks a bit dates now though so not too sure. Budget is up to £1500, which should hopefully buy something really beautiful

Oh wow I've just done a quick search and I think I want one of those for myself 😍 @blueskiesbrighteyes

Yup I got my dress there in December and had the best day! It's a lot cheaper if you go direct to the shop rather than a stockist x
