Hi I am starting weight loss shakes this weekend and I’m looking for others who are doing the same or thinking of starting. Hoping we can support each other

Shakes are not food. Deprivation never works.

Shedders · 08/01/2020 19:35

I didn’t ask for you’re opinion on the product

I'm not but my friend is and giving up alcohol too. She's on day three. She goes to bed at 7.30 to avoid temptation! She's aiming to do it for a month - I think knowing the end date helps.

Yes it’s just a kick start for me too and I have 4 weeks set in mind too

I’m sure shakes will be the answer and you won’t be miserable and bloody hungry all the time at all, then. Enjoy!

Hi, I would probably move this to weight loss/exercise to find more like minded people. Good luck with it. I have been on them 2 a day/ sensible meal for a few months and gone down two dress sizes and feel much fitter (also going to gym).

I lost over eight stone (over two years) and the diet industry didn’t make a penny out of me. Certainly couldn’t have done it on shakes.
I’m not trying to be rude - I’m saying these things don’t work long term. Only a healthy, varied diet and regular exercise will keep it off for good.

These restrictive fad diets are doomed. Imo.

SherlocksDeerstalker · 08/01/2020 20:58

Not just IYHO Pictish - in science, too. Diets have been proven not to work. 95% of dieters regain their lost weight to end up the same Size or bigger after 5 years. Shakes really really won’t help you to form a healthier outlook on your body and on life. I’d look at someone like Rebelfit or Team RH Fitness or James Smith Academy - there’s plenty of people out there telling the truth about the diet industry and helping people to reach their goals and change their mindsets. Good luck. Smile

I don't get meal replacement shakes. They are filled with vile ingredients and for the calorie/fat/carb content you can have a decent lunch!

Lighterlife Shake
160cals
5g fat
13g carbs

My lunch today
Salad with chicken and Feta and aioli.
170cals
9g fat
3g carbs

I know which I'd rather have.

I will never forget a colleague of mine asking a patient how his weight loss was going after he went to shakes instead of meals?
He response was ‘ what do you mean, instead of?’
He had been eating his usual meals and drinking the shakes as well thinking the weight would melt off magically.😀
Good luck

I used to have a weight loss shake for breakfast instead of cereal or toast. A chocolate flavoured one made up with coconut milk and quizzed up with some frozen berries. It was delicious and kept me satisfied until dinnertime and I lost loads of weight (until a fall meant I couldn't exercise and I put it all back on again).

TwoZeroTwoZero · 09/01/2020 06:16

quizzed fucking whizzed you arsehole

Shedders · 09/01/2020 06:26

I WILL REPOST IN WEIGHT LOSS.

Are they not just full of bulking agent?

How unappealing...but if that's preferable to food, ok.
