Ideas to celebrate 2yr old birthday.. Party or not

Trying to think what to do for dd birthday?
She'll be 2.
We will have an approx 6 week old baby if he comes on time.

So choices are:

Hire church hall which allows you to use all the toys and kitchen .. Do food boxes, and dh do a 'disco' he has all the proper equipment as he djs too but thinking just lights and music. ( party would be weekend after when we have dsd here) £60 hire Hall £40 food and party bags

Go to local theme park.. Myself and dd have annual pass so just paying for dh to get in ( can be done on her birthday as dh is off that week.. But weather depending) £40 plus lunch out.. Be too Cold for picnic.

Do a little tea at home.. But with just family kids but that ends up 10+ kids.. And most are older.. And they're very messy? Last Yr kids snuck food into bedrooms and found food in and behind the beds!.. Did say never again but would be cheapest option

I would go to local theme park. or you could go to something like swimming or soft play then out for food? to be honest dc are happy with things like mcdonalds so you could go swimming then home for a happy meal and birthday cake?

Option 2.

Option 1 would be great if you didnt have a 4-6 week old baby. I definitely would be up for making lunchboxes and hosting a party with a newborn, and your daughter is too young to know what a typical party is. Keep that for next year or later.

Option 3 sounds even more stressful especially if the kids involved are older and messy. Could you not invite family kids and do a tea at home with 4 or 5 of her toddler "friends"? We did this for our 2yo birthday and the family weren't bothered.

I would either go to the theme park or a farm or just take her to soft play. She won’t even understand it’s her birthday so make life easy for yourself!

I too would take her to the theme park, farm or similar. I personally think 2 is a bit young for a church hall type party, and she wouldn't get much out of it.
Or a tea party at home for a small number of toddler friends, or just the grandparents without the cousins.

Church hall all the way here!

I wouldn't organise a party in a hall for a two year old...especially with a new born.

She's only 2... just do whatever is easiest for you and have a cake at tea-time.

Thank you.
I spoke to my mum. And she has said if we do a different time. Then she'll help. Do a family one at home. Plus 2 of her friends she sees a lot..
My sis is going to help. With food and prep in the day.
Mum doing games and tidying up.
DH has work that morning till 1 and work again at 6pm that Saturday luckily mum is local

I said about the mess from older ones and she said bar them from upstairs except going to toilet.

Definitely food for thought.
DH still wants to. Do theme park as its re open for spring then and I tend to take her weekly anyway in season as she loves it so much.

Macdonalds would. Of been a fab idea except she's an odd child who refuses any beige food, chips, nugests, fish fingers etc. Won't even put nr her mouth.. Its a good thing but can also be a pain

My children's childhoods were a while ago now, but I do remember that second birthdays were tea and cake with grandparents. There are many, many years of parties to come (all subsequent ones were at home - every year, I said never again, but I had just about recovered in time for the next ones).
