does anyone have interesting mismatched crockery from charity shops?

I am thinking about doing this; most of our ikea uniform stuff is chipped now. If you do, do you have any rules? I want all sizes of plates, and am wondering about setting myself some rules, like nothing too dark, or only a couple of main colours.

Thanks!

Mine is all mismatching charity shop stuff.

Only rule is that it has to be bone china. Beyond that, anything goes!

I just buy things I like, that's the unifying factor for me!

Mine is all cream or white bone china, all from charity shops. No patterns. No square or oblong plates, all circular or oval.
I think shades and patterns in blue and white might all work together to give a Mediterranean vibe.

I have some mismatched tea sets. They are all flowery. My favourite cafe does the same. Nothing matches but neither does it look odd together.

Oh that wonderful year we drive to france and I brought back a whole set of mis matching plates from the French supermarkets
Only stipulation it had to be all blue and yellow
I had some with blue ones with lemons on
So pretty and all gone now
My welsh aunties used to have mismatching bone China t cups and saucers on their units..all lovely floral patterns ...was so striking

I have mismatched crockery from charity shops and the odd [bargain] couple from TK Maxx. It's fun looking for them and being delighted to find just the right one/s. The latest is a hand painted shallow bowl [blue and white] that I use for pasta dishes.

The criteria being they should be white with shades of blue/grey in the pattern on them. A couple of [Polish] plates have yellow in them but they blend in well. All are rustic looking and look good together.

I'm tired of sets that all match. Too twee. Mixing and matching is more interesting.
