I have the feeling that this year there will be no snow.
At all.
Are there any experts around>

I kept hearing it was going to be the coldest winter for 30 years earlier in the year.

But nope.

WellErrr · 04/01/2020 16:24

I wish!! But probably not :(

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/01/2020 16:28

At the moment nothing shows in the models. In fact it looks mild next week.

Every autumn its the same thing....arctic blast on the way, coldest in the centyury and then come February there is an inch of slush and the world comes to a halt.
Moscow has had little or nothing as far as I can tell
I love the snow but it seems unlikely too.

In Scotland we usually get snow around February/march time!

lolaflores · 04/01/2020 16:33

Still time then for us further south?
Am I jumping the gun then?

It’s a bit early yet. Snow is usually February time isn’t it?

CactusAndCacti · 04/01/2020 16:38

It's ok, the Daily Express have told us that there is going to be an arctic blast in the next week or so, so lots of snow.

Which is a bit of a bummer as I have only just cleared the three months worth of snow that they told me about in October.

lolaflores · 04/01/2020 16:44

Where are you living @CactusAndCacti?

OP posts:
CactusAndCacti · 04/01/2020 16:55

England. But the Express is never wrong, the weather they predict always happens, be in the hottest summer, coldest winter or deepest snow. So the months of snow they predicted back in September, really did happen. or not, as the case may be

One time they will get it right surely.

nevergotthehangofturkeys · 04/01/2020 17:04

Oh, the Daily Express Hmm You can generally count on their weather predictions being little better than chance.

Stick to the Met Office. Or common sense, which tells me that snow on the south coast is moderately unlikely in an average (these days) winter.

Peterspotter · 04/01/2020 17:07

There was an older bloke on this morning last year or so I think. They’d had him on a few times and was gardener. He could predict when it was going to snow by how the flora and fauna were growing. He said there would be two lots of snow and it depended on hot and late the summer was and he was bloody right!

Rubychard · 04/01/2020 17:12

I bloody hope so. I got 2 reduced price sledges in home bargains yesterday!!

SugaredSnapPeas · 04/01/2020 17:13

I hope not. I can't bear the stuff and it makes it near impossible for me to go out.

mumwon · 04/01/2020 17:15

snow will occur in feb half term - its the most inconvenient time when you are trying to think what to do with dc

TSSDNCOP · 04/01/2020 17:18

No mumwon it will fall on Monday and Tuesday of the week before half-term. School will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. Wednesday will be for no discernibly good reason. There will be no snow in half-term.

GreyhoundzRool · 04/01/2020 17:28

This year I have no horses to look after, so no stress of trying to get to the yard. This means it won’t snow ! 🤣

katzenellenbogen · 04/01/2020 18:37

It might. It might not.

Fraggot · 04/01/2020 18:39

03/03/20 at 16:34. I’ll bet you all a wagon wheel.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 04/01/2020 18:49

Remember the big snowfall we had 2 years ago was the beginning of March. Plenty of time for the weather to turn.

KittenVsXmastree · 04/01/2020 18:53

Weve had snow!!! A couple of weeks ago. Enough for a snowball fight and a mini snowman. North East England.
