Son has lost his wallet

So DS (19) went out with friends last night for a few drinks. They then decided to head to another close town to go clubbing.

He briefly came home after the drinks and before the club, to change his trousers. Went into town with his friends.

Que him rushing in less than an hour later looking for his wallet because he's seemingly lost it. Couldn't find it at home, so went back into town but the pub was shut but no joy from the person that was still tidying up there.

He obviously froze his card - he's a uni student so barely anything in there anyway right now and has asked again at both of the pubs that he was at.

DH took him to local police station but no cards or anything there.

His bank card was in there (very little money in account), his student ID card (£8 to replace on Monday and can't get into his flat without it), return train ticket that'll cost somewhere around the £50+ mark to replace, student rail-card and provisional driving license with his photo etc.

I am so, so worried about identity fraud but he doesn't seem as worried as me right now!

Apart from cancelling his card and him having no money at uni for a good few days (he'll be hours away from us) what else should we be doing?
The police didn't offer much advice.

Any useful advice much appreciated. Thanks

Stop panicking. This happens all the time. He’s done as much as he needs to.

It’s a horrible thing to have happened, but I think you sound like you’ve got it all covered.

If you're worried you could get protective registration - www.cifas.org.uk/services/identity-protection/protective-registration for peace of mind.

I did this, then someone found all my stuff under a bush a month later! So you never know..

He is an adult and you can't worry about stuff like that. Had he lost it at Uni what would he have done? You will have to loan him some money or he can stay in
