Amazon Alexa Dot with clock. DD15 loves it and it's wasn't too expensive. She has set up her morning alarm on it and various reminders for revision and her own shopping list for cosmetics and bits she needs to add to my main grocery shopping list. DS11 loves to ask it to fart... 🤦🏼‍♀️

lucysmam · 02/01/2020 22:06

Fake airpod earbud things. They were only a fiver & the right one doesn't hold it's charge very well but dd1 only uses one at a time anyway so they're fine (and may be upgraded for her birthday in a fortnight since she does actually use them).

Echo dots went down very well. 10yo likes to make hers fart/meow/sing songs/tell jokes. Almost 13yo uses hers for Spotify, reminders and asking me to add things to Tesco atm. She discovered tonight that it has a guitar tuner so will be trying that tomorrow no doubt.

She likes body sprays as well so like Thesispieces I bought her first proper perfume.

RJnomore1 · 02/01/2020 22:06

Fila disrupters went down well

Also a sewing machine

Rest is probably quite niche - limited edition vinyls, specific clothes, gig tickets.

Oh and she LOVES this, it’s out of stock but sure you’d get similar elsewhere:

I have 12 and 15 year old dd’s (although 12 year old going to be 13 on Sunday!) they both had new iPhones hidden inside trainers which were biggest hits but from smaller things, revision cars things for dd1 only went in to make numbers up but she genuinely loves them plus hair curler (she constantly borrows mine) most of the pretty little thing clothes and pj’s (just leggings had to go back they were too thin) new bedding (both love their beds) but also bought both new cushions for beds which again they loved. Dd2 def the huge beauty type hamper my parents made everything in it from wipes, heat defends spray, shampoo/conditioner, shower gel, cotton pads, lotions, sprays etc all ‘nicer’ stuff than I buy on normal shop! Again clothes/bedding/nice decent make up (dd1 has very nice make up but taken dd2 a bit longer to learn how to look after things!) electric eyebrow trimmer (random but she was chuffed with it!) voucher for ore holiday gel manicure and pedicure and also she’s not hot it yet but one of her gifts for Sunday is Thorpe park day our voucher for her and her best mate, no siblings etc invited

I got my 13 year old niece a Kintsugi repair kit and an cracked Willow Pattern plate. Kintsugi is a Japanese art about celebrating your precious scars (or summat). Basically, you repair old stuff using fancy glue and gold leaf. Some of it looks great. She's very arty. Loved it.

Here's the repair kit:

My 12 year loved the Stranger Things stuff she got in particular the Florence by Mills face wash and moisturiser.

She got a ST hoodie, nightie and Millie Bobby Brown Pandora jewellery. Expensive taste my girl has! 😉

Howmanysleepsnow · 03/01/2020 00:21

Dd12 loved HP sprocket, BTS merchandise and vegan marshmallow toasting kit

MintedLamb · 03/01/2020 00:24

A pandora charm for her bracelet and a giant teddy bear from Costco.

IHeartKingThistle · 03/01/2020 00:33

Starbucks voucher and Greggs voucher!

Tattoo pens (I may live to regret those).

namechangenumber2 · 03/01/2020 00:33

I bought my nieces (14 & 16) a bag for school and some earrings.

From their parents they got musical tickets/concert tickets, clothes and air pods

starrynight19 · 03/01/2020 09:42

For those who bought the sprocket what paper did you get with it ?

my biggest hits were a pennywise picture for IT obsessed dd3 (15) and a ridiculously overpriced shane dawson hoody and make up bag and tickets for the Nutcracker ballet for dd4 (13)

loubielou31 · 03/01/2020 09:47

A "selection box" if Coke zero flavours.

zoobincan · 03/01/2020 09:59

AirPods. Despite me not being keen as I didn't think they would get used much and would be easily lost they are the biggest hit in our house!

Hoppinggreen · 03/01/2020 10:01

Polaroid camera
Concert tickets
Hair curler

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 03/01/2020 10:07

Dd got jeffree star palettes, clothing from urban outfitters, hoodies and cropped tees. (Not as in really short but the type that meet your waistband) Nike Air Force 1’s.

Lush toiletries seem to be a hit as well, shower gels and moisturiser.

lucysmam · 03/01/2020 10:55

@IHeartKingThistle where were the tattoo pens from? They sound like something mine would like

IHeartKingThistle · 03/01/2020 10:59

@lucysmam they are the BodyMark ones from Amazon

PrimalLass · 03/01/2020 11:04
