Can be related to anything. Fitness/budgeting/food planning etc.

I have an app called "tick" on my phone. You can have separate lists for different things - home / shopping / school / garden and, when you tick off all the jobs on a list, you get a load of stars (which I enjoy).

Whole family inc teens sharing icalendars has made life so much easier
I use OurGroceries for shopping lists and increasingly other lists as well, can link to Alexa so can tell it to add something to whichever list you like

I have an app called Due which I really like. It’s like reminders on the iPhone but a lot quicker to make entries and it will keep reminding you over & over until you’ve actually done the task.

I’ve tried many things over the years but the only things that have stuck are shared family icalendar and keeping a notebook handy at my desk / in my bag. Calendar for scheduling, notebook for lists (to do, shopping, suggestions, plans).

The one thing I haven’t cracked is regular scheduling of little things - things like doing my cuticles every night, doing my back exercises / yoga every morning, remembering pelvic floor exercises. Also tracking alcohol free days, eating plans etc etc. I’ve tried a bullet journal... which worked for about a month - then I forgot to do it! The BJ habit failed to stick.

You Need A Budget for budgeting. Amazing.

StraightenUpAndFryRight · 01/01/2020 19:12

Yes Watcha I find the bullet journaling thing hard to keep up.

Bullet journal. I've been doing it for five years now and couldn't function half as well without it.
Mine isn't all pretty with different colour pens and washi tape and all that childish crap though. It's purely functional!

Watchagotcha · 01/01/2020 19:25

@Tahitiisamagicalplace

The problem I had with BJ was that I didn’t need it as a daily / weekly calendar, and because I didn’t «need» to refer to it every day, I didn’t get into the habit of doing so.

Do you look forward to doing yours? Is it a regular habit to sit down and update it each day?

53rdWay · 01/01/2020 19:45

Anyone got a good guide to using a bullet journal? I’ve tried a couple of times but never managed to make it work more than a few days.

Paprika is a brilliant app for meal planning. You can use it to store a library of recipes and also to create a meal plan calendar.

I save all my recipes in it and then every weekend go through and add recipes to the calendar for the week ahead. It's good having all the recipes I like or want to try in one place to scroll through and also you can search for 'aubergine' (or whatever) if you know you want an aubergine dish.

It automatically creates a shopping list with all your ingredients on it. And it's helpful when I'm cooking too because you can click a button to adjust the quantities in a recipe from eg serves 4 to serves 2, cross off ingredients as you add them and also it can set multiple timers for you.

A bullet journal is just all your to do lists written down in a notebook and dated.
If you don't need a to do list that day don't use it.
If you work better with a weekly to do list, do that
