What to do for ds 8th birthday?

Hi, so I'm needing ideas. His birthday is in 2 weeks so it's difficult to book a 'party'.

We always do a tea party in the evening for family but what could we do during the day.

I feel guilty because we seem to do the same things every year with the same people so looking for other ideas. Thanks.

Not sure if your DS is into fortnite but my ds had a fortnite party on his 8th birthday. 6 kids in total, 3 consoles and they all played fortnite against one another and took turns. Supplied food and drinks and it was probably the most relaxed party I've ever hosted.

Mine would want to do laser tag, trampolining, bowling or cinema.

Ours went bowling, a repeat of his 7th birthday because he loved it. They were 6 DC in total, there's no way I'm having 6 in my house for a shouting match over a computer game Confused

My boys at that age enjoyed trampolining, football, nerf and laser tag parties.

Agree

I thought the age restriction for Fortnite is 12

ChimpyChops · 31/12/2019 10:38

We did bowling when DS when 8. He was allowed to invite 5 friends and we booked one lane plus the meals and drinks.
He loved it.

What does he want to do? Last year DD1 wanted 3 friends for a sleepover (and they camped in the garden but it was June!). This year DD2 wants a day out at the local steam railway Dinosaur special weekend.

When my ds was that age, several of the children in his class had swimming parties for their birthdays. Local leisure centre, could have up to about 40 kids, they had the pool to themselves with one of those giant inflatable obstacle courses out and then loads of floats for the less confident swimmers to play on. They are allowed in the pool by themselves from that age so no adults had to go in with them. Then the leisure centre let us use one of their rooms to do party food afterwards (we provided the food). Cost about £100 in total for 25-30 kids and they loved it.

Ds1 went karting for 8th, trampolining & pizza hut for 9th.

I let him have 3 friends for a sleepover. They did stay up very late, and get up early, but it wasn't that bad and DS absolutely loved it!!
