Baby girl clothes...fussy!

KatnissMellark · 30/12/2019 20:13

Can anyone recommend somewhere to buy them, whilst avoiding the following:

Pink
Beige/sludge colours
Slogans
Denim

Feeling very uninspired currently. I'm not particularly looking for twee stuff, a la JoJo Maman etc- very practical dresser myself and would like to find some colourful, practical baby girl clothes.

We get most stuff from Sainsbury’s because it’s reasonably priced, nice designs and good quality.
John Lewis has a great unisex range with some gorgeous prints rather than just your usual boring cream or yellow.
Also look at bonds wondersuits if you’re happy to splash out - so beautiful!

Chochito · 30/12/2019 22:12

Zara and H&M?

Summerandsparkle · 30/12/2019 22:19

Sainsbury’s outfits are lovely and next is always great too. H & M is great for comfy stuff too. You could get some second hand Joules stuff from eBay too- they have some lovely more neutral designs.

Just to say though.. if she does end up liking pink, let her like pink! My Mum said to me that she ‘wanted a tomboy but got a girly girl’. I’m sure you’re nothing like that as we’re only talking about clothes here but still!

Why don't you just buy some boys clothes?

You can get Bonds online here: outletshopforkids.myshopify.com

gothefcktosleep · 30/12/2019 22:25

Uniqlo...

georgialondon · 30/12/2019 22:38

I love Frugi

Chochito · 30/12/2019 22:39

Not sure if you can buy these brands in the U.K., presuming that's where you are, OP. Maybe online or in department stores -

Gocco, Mayoral, Nanos, Neck & Neck, Omini, Tiny Cotton

Also, Sfera (part of Inditex company that also owns Zara, Mango, Lefties, etc.) Cheaper than Zara.

And Bonds baby grows are fantastic and come in great patterns too

SoftSheen · 30/12/2019 22:42

Polarn O. Pyret have a sale currently.

Also John Lewis, Boden, H&M

whistleinthewind · 30/12/2019 22:48

Polarn O Pyret. I think M&S has lovely stuff for girls, same as John Lewis and Next, barely anything pink needs to included and I still walk out with mountains of clothes for DD. As Mothercare are closing down apparently only stores easily within reach of their distribution centres are getting deliveries now (so from Watford as far as Bristol for example) so depending on where you live that may be why you have had no choice in clothing colours from them. I cleaned up at ours the other day!

RhymingRabbit3 · 30/12/2019 22:51

I would definitely look at Frugi. It's expensive (although they have a sale at the moment) but has a reasonable resale market. You could look on facebook and ebay for second hand frugi as well, many bargains to be had especially in small sizes.

Dutch shop HEMA is great for gender neutral stuff (although they do seem to be moving in the wrong direction now unfortunately) - unlike most shops in the UK, they don't tend to label their stuff as for boys or girls. Check their website www.hema.com - turns out they have a UK specific one!

Camomila · 30/12/2019 22:51

The ruched 'girl' sleeves are annoying, DS chose himself a girls t-shirt in the shop once because he liked the picture at the front, no problem, but then he never wore it because he said the sleeves were uncomfortable.

I've seen some nice bright baby grows in the John Lewis sale.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for thick/warmer baby grows? - due in Jan and DSs Tesco and H&M babygrows seem really thin.
