Are there any other sufferers on MN? Or anyone that has a DC with it? Have been here some years but haven't seen it mentioned before. I've never met anyone else IRL with it either, even though it's supposed to be quite common. I've had it my entire life, as far as I know, it's incredibly frustrating and annoying!

I have it. Even the word makes me feel sick.

I do it. My hair is all different lengths.
I do it without thinking. It’s hard not to.

Oh hello! How do you do? I'm sure you'll relate to this. So I've been on holiday for three weeks for he first time ever and in that time I've been so relaxed I actually have something resembling real eyebrows for the first time since I was a small child! I'm flying home tomorrow...my right hand is already absolutely glued to my right eyebrow. I actually cannot stop it even as I type. It's such a freaking weird condition!! Sad

I've got it. Started where I was 11 and I'm 38 now. I've never been able to have a parting or wear my hair down (I have it very long so it can be pulled back.)
I hate it.

Me. Have had it since I was tiny, I think I gave myself the first whopping bald patch when I was in infants school.

Over the years vanity helped to keep it under more control, but I’ve still had times when I’ve had patches ‘hidden’ behind my ears etc.

I do manage it now, I rarely actually pull out the hair anymore but I still seek out the ones with the texture I like Confused and pull through my fingers. It’s my default when I start to get stressed or under pressure at work etc. The worst part now I’m mid forties is that my shoulders ache with it!

My mum has/had it, especially when younger and still living with her parents. She twisted and pulled her hair, but never ate it. She now has a bald spot on the crown of her head and its never grown back.
See your Dr about CBT therapy to help with whatever your underlying anxiety is, which in turn might help curb your pulling and prevent a permanent bald patch. It is very common, so dont worry that the GP wont have seen it before.

I have it

I know the trigger is worrying about money it not when I am worrying but after often when I am more relaxed

If money wasn’t an issue I know it would be something else
