Tricky. Lean right over the sink. It’s not dignified

GummyGoddess · 30/12/2019 09:44

Close your mouth?

funmummy48 · 30/12/2019 09:47

Lean forward over the sink & close your mouth up as much as possible or do what my friend does and use it in the shower.

I usually wash the ceiling as well. It's a real art just doing your teeth.

Mine has a bit at the top which means you can change the angle of the head as you work your way round your mouth. Mine is a Waterpik, so the head slots into a little wheel thing that you can turn making the angled head reach all the places you want.

Basically the more you use it the better you get at it. Try working your way round your mouth without the water on to get a feel for what you should be doing.

Are they any good?

funmummy48 · 30/12/2019 10:27

@Lifeoverhaul I’ve been using one for 3 years and wouldn’t be without it now.

WeeDangerousSpike · 30/12/2019 10:28

In the shower.

betternamechangeforthisone · 30/12/2019 10:28

I do it in the shower

Tash171 · 30/12/2019 10:30

GrinI give up and bought a Phillips air flosser! (John Lewis has a really good offer on atm)

Lifeoverhaul · 30/12/2019 10:38

Can anyone reccomend a good one?

BrokenWing · 30/12/2019 10:46

I considered one and spoke with my dental therapist who strongly recommended staying away from home water flossers.

She said she preferred I used interdental brushes, and if I didn't get on with them floss as both are much more effective.

NanTheWiser · 30/12/2019 11:48

There is a knack, just close your mouth around the tip, switch off to spit out the water, then continue.

puds11 · 30/12/2019 12:41

Thank you all. It was a bit of a shock Grin

I have just bought one of these. I am also not getting on with it. I will keep trying. It is sharp on my gums. Hope you get used to it OP. Apparently they are very effective.

funmummy48 · 30/12/2019 20:04

My dentist recommended I try one and thinks they’re very effective.

puds11 · 31/12/2019 03:11

I think I’ll try it in the shower and see how that goes!

They’re quite easy... just keep mouth closed 😁
