Would your toddler like a diamond ring for Christmas?

I’ve noticed in the celebrity trash mags that rich celebs seem to buy their kids very grown up gifts.
Prada shoes, diamond rings, mini Chanel bags.
Obviously I wish they were buying me these things, but why buy for a small child?
My toddler was way more in to play doh and Peppa pig and would have been a bit surprised at a pair of shoes.
I presume they get the toys too, and keep the expensive bling for when older?

Kim kardashian bought North an original michael Jackson jacket that coat €65,000. I'm sure she was just thrilled 😂

Ugh, a pedophile's old clothing. 😣

I'm guessing they get toys too, I saw that Kylie Jenner's daughter got a life size playhouse.

Maybe super rich toddlers are used to a different lifestyle and play doh just won't cut it. Grin

Yes! I saw that about the jacket and was like, wtf?!
Just because you can spend it on that, would you? I think I’d still be a bit more in the toys dept than the memorabilia dept. Grin

I'm guessing it's for tax or investment purposes. It would be a great way to 'hide' money for a rainy day, plus items like Chanel bags and diamonds can increase in value when the time comes to sell.

That is a bit over the top but then what do you buy children who probably already got everything when you have so much money!! I couldn't picture buying my 10 year old even gifts like a diamond ring but then may think different if I was a million/billionaire Crown Hmm

I got mine a diamond ring at that age. It also came with a plastic diamond necklace and bracelet in the pack. It lived in the dressing up box.

My DD(6) would absolutely love a real diamond ring! She got a smiggle mood ring in her stocking with tiny sparkly stones around a colour-changing cat. She asked me very seriously whether they were real jewels and when I said that I thought probably not, she decided that they must be magic then (because it came from Santa). Grin

She's always loved getting clothes as gifts, and when she was 2 she actually gasped out loud at a pair of red shoes the assistant brought out for her to try (Clarks rather than Prada Grin)

I have no idea where it comes from! DH and I are really not very materialistic, and I'm not into clothes/shoes/makeup at all.

Apparently Princess Charlotte was very taken with a plastic pink blow up flamingo, 😆. So all these multi millionaires could save themselves a fortune and buy blow up toys from Spar for their little darlings. Grin

I'm not rich, but my gran was (she reminded me of the step mother in Cinderella).

When I was 5 years old she bought me a real fur coat and I screamed and cried as it was a similar colour to a neighborhood dog and I thought it was the dog (crazy old bitch I wouldn't have put it past her).

I refused to wear it and I remember my dad and her having a row about how unreasonable she was to try to force me.

No idea how much it cost her or what happened to it.

I think they'd prefer the mocking bird.

MyNameHasBeenTaken · 31/12/2019 00:46

My dd when she was 2?
She would probably have eaten it!

Kate has been reading mumsnets advice about using blow up toys to make the pile look bigger. Go Kate.
