How would you describe this sort of person? Is it Type A?

  • Could sell sand in the desert, very charming
  • Very proud and concerned with how they are perceived
  • Does not tolerate fools gladly
  • Does not do emotions
  • Is always 'fine'

Family history of similar personalities and depression, which I'm convinced is linked.

I don’t think it’s got anything to do with those personality traits.
I think Type A is stressy people who are always on the go, want to get things done and are a bit much at times (like me 😁).

Type B is your easygoing types that everyone wants to be friends with.

Why does everyone need a label??

Bluefargo · 29/12/2019 20:33

I would consider type A people to be perfectionists - put way too much pressure on themselves to exceed, make everyone happy etc

Type b more laid back

The personality you describe above sounds slightly narcissistic but not necessarily type A.

PeriwinkleBlueIrises · 29/12/2019 20:35

Narcissism is also something I'm thinking of, but I also think that this person has incredibly low self esteem.

Proper definition says:

The hypothesis describes Type A individuals as outgoing, ambitious, rigidly organized, highly status-conscious, sensitive, impatient, anxious, proactive, and concerned with time management. People with Type A personalities are often high-achieving "workaholics". They push themselves with deadlines, and hate both delays and ambivalence

Performer. ESFP or ESTP (myers briggs).

Type 2 or 3 on the Enneagram (Wikipedia explains the 9 types).

All nonsense of course.

ragged · 29/12/2019 21:01

ESFP or ENTP (inspirational & entertaining at best, persuasive bullshitters at worst).

I think insecurity is something else that the MyersBriggs taxonomy doesn't capture.

nosetonip · 29/12/2019 21:04

Eh, @YearofMisAdventure - an Enneagram 2 who doesn't do emotions or suffer fools gladly!?
