Best app to show you what to do in the gym? FIIT? Jennis? Kayla?

The personal trainers in my gym are all ripped blokes and look pretty intimidating.

I would like to download a programme to my phone which has videos of people showing me what I need to do. I'd like a structured programme as opposed to me just choosing random videos off Youtube, so I don't mind paying for a programme on an app.

So far I have come across:

Women's Health Transform programme with Alice Liveing
FIIT app
Jennis - Jessica Ennis Hill
NoBS Gym Guide - Lucy Mountain
Kayla Itsine's one

Which do I choose? Any reviews or suggestions please? Crown Smile

My favourite was LDN Muscle. I got great results but it is a little pricey. Keep an eye on the new year sale though as they may have one coming up. It’s weight training based. If you’re new to weight training then I would suggest booking a few sessions with a PT and ask them to guide you on compound movements such as squat and deadlift.

Thanks @wontletmelogin, I'll take a look at that one Smile

I love the FIIT app but might be worth you looking at James Smith for more weight based training.

Jillian Michaels has an app and each exercise has a video. Huge amount of options.

Fitness Blender has lots of videos, and the instructors are doing the exercise with you. Videos are all free, but if you want a particular regime, you can pay.

Seriously don't be put off by the trainers in the gym. The guy who did me induction and programme a few years back was proper dreamboys level ripped, he probably wouldn't have been my choice had i seen him first. However he was the sweetest most thorough guy who really knew his stuff and listened very carefully to my wants and needs. He absolutely was instrumental in my feeling confident and comfortable at the gym.

PT costs a bomb! I’m worried about hurting myself with weights though, if don’t have the right ‘form’.

Hey there I'm very interested in the nobs home guide my Lucy mountain. I'm sure I'm gonna buy it in the morning

GymBunny2020 · 30/12/2019 12:55

I've downloaded the Jillian Michaels one which looks good - and I'd rather pay £13 a month than the big upfront like the NoBS guide..

Decisions decisions!!

Any decent free ones? I’m rejoining the gym and don’t want to spend a fortune on apps too!

@VolcanionSteamArtillery is completely right, they may look intimidating but they really aren't. They do that job because they WANT to help people achieve their desired level of fitness. Watching someone do it may work, but much much better to have someone who can actually point out what you're doing wrong and also work you to your full potential.
Good luck.

I did really like the Sweat App by Kayla Itsines. It was really easy to follow with a good mix of workouts that can be done at home and with no equipment or at the gym. It also had progression in there. I got it for a month when I was on holiday but now I am back to classes at the gym.
