DH treated me like Alexa... (lighthearted)

A few years ago I noticed that DH would remember simple tasks that needed to be done, e.g. cancel the milk, add tea bags to the shopping list, and rather than just do them he'd tell me "we need to cancel the milk".

He also would ask me to google things like who was singing a song on the radio, or what the weather forecast was. I found this all mildly annoying and told him to just cancel the milk/google himself.

A year ago we got Alexa. Now he asks me to tell Alexa to add teabags to the shopping list while in the same room as Alexa. How can I get my DH to tell the difference between me and the smart speaker? Or should I just answer "sorry, I don't know that one/I'm having trouble connecting to the internet, please try again later" every time he does this?

I was anticipating an LTB Grin he's doing it again now, asking me to ask Alexa about the New Years honours list Confused

Definitely "sorry, I don't know that one" or "I'm having trouble understanding right now, please try again a little later" Grin

Respond that you don't understand, in Cantonese.

Yes, I love your response!
Please do that Grin

Is he a technophobe? Maybe he thinks he won't do it 'properly'!

This is also why we got Alexa, because DP was constantly asking me to remind him to do things, check the weather forecast or add something to the shopping list. Now when I does it I just say "Don't tell me, tell you-know-who!!!" He has finally got the message.

@violetbunny glad I'm not the only one!
