Citalopram for menopause - does it make a difference what time I take it?

I’m on 10mg a day and it’s made a HUGE difference to my life. My flushes have stopped and I’m sleeping better.

I’m bad at remembering to take it every day though God knows how I never got pregnant when I was on the pill so my question is:

If I take it primarily to help me sleep better, what’s the best time to take it? Does it make a difference?

For me it's better in the mornings. I'm wide awake all night if I take it in the evening

I took 20mg throughout menopause and it didn’t help me sleep at all whether I took it at night or morning.
It was marvellous though at keeping me in an even keel and able to cope with sick elderly parents living 4 hours away, a stressful full time job ( infant teaching) 2 of my adult sons moving overseas to live and divorce!
I took it for about 5 years as I wasn’t allowed to take hrt ( severe migraine/ stroke risk)
I learned to function on a few hours sleep.

Through the menopause etc now and don’t take it anymore.
Good sleep habits are yet to return!

I take mine in the morning, I always take it with milk so when I'm doing the breakfast it reminds me.
Could you keep them next to your toothbrush so you see them every morning to remind yourself, or set a reminder on your phone.

I’m going to try it in the morning- thanks, everyone.
@Knittingnanny our lives sound remarkably similar!

Coattails, hope it helps you. It was such a help and didn’t seem to have any unpleasant side effects. Several of my menopausal friends also benefitted from it. Also, there were no withdrawal symptoms when I stopped taking it.
