Help me choose - career change

Work in finance - been ten years
Want to do something else in 3-5yrs time, happy to re train etc

Would like to be PT, 3-4days a week. I'm super organised, extrovert and enjoy helping people.
I was thinking some kind of coaching but I'm not sure what. Would love my own business. Or completely retraining eg 3yr midwifery degree...

I couldn't be a teacher (not enough patience / too many people and kids / it's not part time).

Transferable skills include... stroking the male ego? And maths Grin

Suggestions on a postcard please!

What kind of finance role do you currently do?
Can't work PT because of money or the culture?

I've thought about setting up personal finance website / advice for women. But it's so heavily regulated it's very hard to get into

@EvaHarknessRose I can't use my skills in a hospital or school standalone really as I'm in investment management (some of our clients are foundations or university endowments so that the closest I get currently).

Seems like it would be tough to get a graduate traineeship for something like accountancy let alone part time

3 years of exams for ACA but you get paid while you work so it's not the same as going to Uni for example. In a good firm in London you might get, say, £30k+ while you train. Then a big salary jump when you are qualified.

@FrazzledCareerWoman - I work in the Accounts Dept of a manufacturing company, doing monthly management accounts, budgets, that sort of thing. My role couldn't be done part time, we're quite a small dept, and also I need the money at the moment, being a single mum, mortgage, bills etc. I'm sort of thinking to keep going for a few more years, until my eldest two have flown the nest, and then maybe cut down to part time. I'm 50 now, and don't want to still be working full-time when i'm 60.
