Yea sometimes if I'm not too tired. We don't go out or invite people over though so there's no pressure to do so if I'm not feeling it.

No. Bed at 9pm ish, same as every night. No special food or anything either and no one is coming round. This suits me!

ManorMouse · 28/12/2019 08:14

I usually stay up for NYE but not this year. I'll be doing a normal work shift of 7am to 3.30pm so will be getting up at 4.30am. I'll be in bed by 10pm at the latest. I'm not bothered though as Tuesday is the only day I'll be working next week.

vitaminC · 28/12/2019 08:20

I'll be at work (Dr in A&E).
Probably the worst shift of the year as it will be quiet up till midnight, then progressively busier throughout the small hours, with many drunk and agitated patients.
But somebody has to do it...

Yes, I do. When I was with DD's dad it was miserable, when I was single and DD was little I stayed up with some nice food and some fizz and watched TV and she used to wake up to watch the fireworks. I've been with DP for 5 years and we used to cook a nice meal and have champagne, but this year will be the first year I've been out on NYE since 2008! We decided to have a really special one this year, as DD and are staying in a lovely hotel with some friends and pushing the boat out. I'm really looking forward to it. I never enjoyed being out on the street or in bars. Too busy and always an anticlimax.

happycamper11 · 28/12/2019 08:23

Yes and so do DC, dd2 lasted for the first time last year- she was 5. DD1 now 10 has managed from younger as she's never been one for sleep. We can see Edinburgh vastly fireworks from our window so they love watching it on tv and out the window at the same time 😆

happycamper11 · 28/12/2019 08:26

I live in Edinburgh - no point in going to bed early, the fireworks are so loud you'd wake up anyway 😂🎉**

Thankfully we've long since learned to sleep through this or august would be a tiresome time lol

Ohfrigginghellers · 28/12/2019 08:26

@vitaminC and thank you for the work that you do

Yep, we head to city to watch the fireworks

Eminybob · 28/12/2019 08:34

I try but usually fall asleep before 12.
We’ve said that DS1 can try and stay up for the first time this year, but I can’t imagine he’ll manage it.

ODFOkaren · 28/12/2019 08:37

No, never. I dread another year of shit to be honest.

Saying that this year I will be awake as I am working night shift - dreading it as there will be fireworks in the neighbourhood and I work in a mental health unit, I’m on my own with 12 residents most of whom got hugely upset abs agitated at fireworks going off. So that will be fun.

No, I often go to the cinema or theatre if possible. May see Little Women at the local cinema early in the evening.
