Can I take my Christmas tree to the charity shop?

We no longer want it, it's a few years old but still ok. Would they take it or should we just tip it?

Take it next November when someone might want to buy it.

I’d put in on Freecycle.

I'd Freecycle it. Charity shops often don't have much space and it's not handy for them to get out of season goods they have to store.

But you could always ask them.

I donated my old, but still in really good condition Xmas tree to a local care home a couple of years ago.
Maybe you could try that OP.
Or a similar organisation.
One of my brother's uses his old tree in his front garden with a string of outdoor lights on it at Xmas.

I'm donating mine, but as upthread I will hang on to it until later next year. They don't want to be inundated with Christmas trees in January!

HotChocolatemarshmallows · 26/12/2019 17:41

Good idea. I'll shove it back in the loft til later in the year.

Put a reminder on your phone and donate it around October, I did that with a load of spare decorations a couple of years ago.

I agree with others. As long as you still have the space to store it (not moving to a smaller place next year) then just put it away and donate in November.
