All named different things; how do I send an announcement from one, to just ONE of the others? Rather than it announcing to both, if I don't need/want it to?

I've asked it to announce on "L's dot" but it doesn't seem to understand that Confused

@lucysmam on the app, at the bottom, click where it says communication, then drop in.

lucysmam · 25/12/2019 23:18

Ah, thankyou, I've found it.

For the people with teenagers who didn't know about drop in... if the teens know about it then they could drop in on you, but bot say anything and just listen in on your conversations etc. You should be aware of it!

You can disable drop in on the app.

Alexa makes a sound to make you aware you have been “dropped in on”

Lulualla · 25/12/2019 23:36

Its easy to miss the sound if you're in and out of the room, or doing something else and not paying attention. However, my comment was for the people who didn't know about dropping in; they wouldn't realise what the sound was and would just assume it had woken up at a random word so ignored it.

I went from "I'm not having one of those" to having 4 of them

Me tooGrin it was so useful today cooking and using it to set timers.

Tumbleweed101 · 26/12/2019 00:00

I didn't know about the 'drop in on' thing so that's helpful as we've got more Dots this Christmas.

Does anyone know how you can play different music on each of them with the same Spotify account? at the moment they all end up doing the same music.

Itsigginingtolookalotlikexmas · 26/12/2019 00:24

There is a more expensive Spotify subscription needed to use with different people

Itsigginingtolookalotlikexmas · 26/12/2019 00:25

(At the same time)

lucysmam · 26/12/2019 10:38

@Tumbleweed101 we have two Spotify subscriptions (for now) but can only get them to play through one of them. Which is ok...except dd1 keeps reminding us it's hers that we're linked to Xmas Hmm

Thank you :). It’s not just me being dim then lol.

That said, I only discovered theirs a button to stop it being voice activated the other day...
9 months after we got the first one 🤣.

Tumbleweed101 · 26/12/2019 10:42

*there’s not theirs. My autocorrect does that for some reason 🙄.

lucysmam · 26/12/2019 10:47

Which button does that??

I'm wondering if I should have got a 4th for the living room, while they were cheaper. Moving this one hasn't done it any harm I don't think but it'll be a pita to do every day.

Lucysmam they’re still £25 in Argos Wink

PorpentinaScamander · 26/12/2019 18:09

Check for offers. Ds1 bought our first one in the Jan sales last year.
Then I got one for 99p with our Spotify Family account. Another free with a new broadband package (Vodafone) and bought one on Black Friday
