What is this noise?

Sat in the lounge and I can hear a very high pitched whisting type noise. It's not very loud, but loud enough)I can't pin point where it is coming from but it's driving me insane. Grin
I've gone round the whole house with my ear to the wall and it's almost like the noise is in the wall in the lounge. Hmm
The boiler is on but it's on the opposite side of the house. So can't be that.
Any ideas!

We get that type of noise if the surround sound isn't plugged in correctly.
Radiators/plumbing?

Sometimes lightbulbs or fittings can make a high pitched electrical buzz.

I solved an annoying whistle in my friend's house recently - it was the rechargeable battery in the cordless phone dying a death.

Yep check your cordless phones and any other electrical equipment.

Sounds electrical.

Or you could be like me and have a bad chest, mine sounds like a mouse has taken residence. I searched for ages to see where the noise was coming from before realising it was me.
