When do I have to stop referring to my DS as a baby?! 😬

About 11-18 months when they start walking.

Siennabear · 23/12/2019 20:34

12 -18 ! Fat thumbs

YourOpinionIsNoted · 23/12/2019 20:35

Definitely when they start walking. But they don't become a toddler. They become a toddlepot because it's way cuter Xmas Grin.

When they are old enough to tell you off for calling them a baby? sob

busyweeks78 · 23/12/2019 20:36

12 months I would say

WellErrr · 23/12/2019 20:36

When they start toddling about Grin

Stillmonday · 23/12/2019 20:37

My 18 month old is still my baby. 🤷

drspouse · 23/12/2019 20:38

I would say when they start walking but both of mine were v late walkers and it felt a bit silly.
Preschooler I'd say age 3.

hazeyjane · 23/12/2019 20:38

I'd say from a year and stay a toddler until 3.

2 of mine were very late walkers but I still thought of them as toddlers from a year old.

Snaleandthewhail · 23/12/2019 20:40

My daughter is 14 months and two weeks ago there was enough of a leap of comprehension/walking/independence that I said “that’s it, my baby has gone”. Although on one level she’ll always be my baby.

@JesusMaryAndJosepheen 🤣 good on you

Emmabryant123 · 23/12/2019 20:57

My daughter is 4 in February.
Still call her my baby.

Thefaceofboe · 23/12/2019 21:18

I say 2 because I work in a baby room and they move downstairs after their 2nd birthday Grin I’m sure they will always be your baby though!

Thefaceofboe · 23/12/2019 21:18

Downstairs to the toddler room *

newbingepisodes · 23/12/2019 21:26

When they start to toddle

BackforGood · 23/12/2019 21:48

The answer is in the name really - it has to be when they start to toddle.

They can still be your baby though. My 18 yr old is still my baby, as she will forever be, as the youngest of the brood.

Crunchymum · 23/12/2019 21:51

My globally delayed DC3 has only just started to toddle but I've referred to her as a toddler for a while (she is 2 in a few weeks)

However she is the youngest and therefore the baby to us all at home Shock

reluctantbrit · 23/12/2019 21:53

Toddler from 1st birthday and child from the day they start preschool.

53rdWay · 23/12/2019 21:55

Toddler around the age when they can walk and have more than a few words. Probably around the "Mummy NOOOOOOO!" stage Grin I wouldn't say 'as soon as they can walk' because I know a couple of people whose children started around 9/10 months, yikes.

Mammyloveswine · 23/12/2019 21:56

I call my almost 2 year old the baby...although he's now talking in sentences Blush he's just so cute though!

PastaSauceHoarder · 23/12/2019 21:58

I think I started referring to my DD as a toddler after her first birthday - shes 2 and a half now so definitely in full toddler mode!

She's still my little baby though. ❤

MamaFlintstone · 23/12/2019 21:59

Toddler from 1. But obviously she’s still my baby.
