Cloves!

Can you settle an argument?
The smell of cloves reminds me strongly of the dentist, and while I know that dentists don't use cloves anymore for toothache, I wondered if it was because some of the medicine is derived from cloves.
DH thinks I'm talking nonsense. What do you think?

Cloves remind me of the dentist too.
Along with toothache, because if we ever had a toothache, my mum would put some clove oil on a bit of cotton wool and tell us to press it against the affected tooth.

The toothpaste the dentist uses has cloves in it. (Well, mine does)

I think the mouthwash at the dentist's probably does have some clove product in it!

About 3 years ago the dentist put clove oil on a tooth I was struggling with. Recently I had toothache and remembering that I got some clove oil and it really helped! You need to dilute it first though.

We use clove oil for toothache at home, I do think the ‘dentist’ smell is very similar to the smell of cloves

Ex dh had dry socket after an extraction , dentist packed it with a dressing soaked with clove oil.

Thank you. I will tell DH! He pointed out that it was 2019 not 1919, so of course they wouldn't use cloves.

It makes me think of the dentist too. Before I had a root canal earlier in the year clove oil was the only thing that helped to numb the pain!
