Have any of you ever actually tried to install a parking bollard?

Prompted by yet another CF parking thread on the go, and the numerous shouts of 'buy a penguin bollard', it occurs to be me that whilst buying a bollard is a doddle, £35 and one arrives the next day on Amazon, for example. How the dickens to you actually install one? I find it hard enough to drill into the wall to put up shelves, never mind into concrete or tarmac.

Perhaps bollards aren't so simple after all?

We have penguin bollards, ones that are completely under the ground and pop up - cost about £1k to install, they had to drill a 1 meter hole to slot them in.

We have electric bollards so slightly different but the hole they sit in is about 6ft deep.

You need a super drill. Dh has one that would do it. Basically you just need to put the bolts into the ground

We stay in a building with allocated parking spaces, getting a bollard fitted was the best thing we ever done. We phoned a parking bollard supply and installation company so we didn't have to fit ourselves. I will try and find the number of the company who supplied and fitted ours xx

Found it Smile these guys were amazing. They supplied me with a great parking bollard and installed it for me and it wasn't expensive. It's great having our car park space back. Parking Bollards Glasgow was the name i think they work throughout the UK but are based in Scotland. Highly recommend!

Neighbour had one that locks down and locks up. Think it cost a fair bit?

Other neighbour tripped over on visiting her. It was slightly deeper and not set level into the ground and she twisted her ankle and fell badly.

She sued her.

Make sure it is idiot proof.
