Yes, used to feel really tired in winter. I take Better You spray. I don't get tired anymore. Been taking it for 3 years or so.

AnneLovesGilbert · 22/12/2019 23:15

I take it but don’t notice any difference.

justilou1 · 22/12/2019 23:17

Yep... I do. I take ie because despite living in Australia, my levels are low. Somehow I don’t process it properly or something. I take a megadose every day and it took a long time to build up, but I feel better for it.

Yes. I was deficient with a reading of 27. Within a month I'd got that up to 73.

You can't mess about with 1000 though - 4000 a day is about right if you're deficient or low.

@Bettertobehealthy is the absolute expert on this so I'm hoping she/he will spot this and advise. Or search their posts - brilliant

DramaAlpaca · 22/12/2019 23:18

Yes, I do & I think it helps.

Ludways · 22/12/2019 23:21

**and feel

autumnboys · 22/12/2019 23:23

Yes, I have an autoimmune condition which is commonly linked with low Vit D, so I had a blood test & mine was very low. I take it daily. I don’t notice if I run out in the summer, but I do in the winter.

pallisers · 22/12/2019 23:23

Yes. I don't take it for energy. I take it for my bones.

TheTinselrati · 22/12/2019 23:23

I have a spray I take erratically - must make more of an effort

Littleshortcake · 22/12/2019 23:25

Ok so 1000 is too little. My Polish friend uses a very high dose she brings over.

I had a spell last year where I just didn't feel right and caught one thing after another. A test showed I was deficient so I have supplemented since
Apparently most people in the UK are efficient over the winter months so it is worth taking some

Womenwotlunch · 22/12/2019 23:25

Yes

museumsandgalleries666 · 22/12/2019 23:29

Yes daily, recommended to do so by medical specialist for a condition, for healthy bones. not sure if you would actually feel any different for taking them ie energy levels etc but it's helping your bones which is important

Dowser · 23/12/2019 00:06

Yes..will start in January
Just come back from a sunshine holiday..so January should be about right

My husband took it to try and alleviate SAD but all it did was make his skin very itchy.

He now spends as much time outside as he can and that has helped... without the itchiness.

FruityWidow · 23/12/2019 00:18

I do but not really see a difference. Doc says the number is up so I guess I just keep on taking them.

BinkySodPlop · 23/12/2019 00:20

Yep. As recommended by Public Health England, I take 10 micrograms a day from October to March.

Kensie · 23/12/2019 00:26

I take the extra strength vitamin D (recommended by DR) and don't notice the difference. The first I knew of low levels was through a blood test. However I do think my constant tiredness may be from other issues.

Tillygetsit · 23/12/2019 00:27

Yes. Vit D levels very low in the summer so doc prescribed them. Not sure if I feel any difference tbh.

fligglepige · 23/12/2019 00:33

I'm on a loading dose of 50,000 IU weekly for 8 weeks then consultant has said I'm to take 3000 daily through a spray, I was tested for this due to multiple miscarriages and my numbers were low. I haven't needed a daytime nap since the first week after starting which is great. I would have slept all day and all night previously (thought I was just lazy!)

StanleyWalkersThirdWife · 23/12/2019 00:36

Yep I take it as I have insufficient levels of vitamin d - but not low enough to be considered deficient.

If you're tired all the time could you have low iron?
