Neighbour presents

I'm in need of some encouragement! We moved into our new house earlier this year, completely gutted it because it was uninhabited for 10 years. It's a really nice street with people who have lived here for years, and we are really happy here. Someone has put a 'santa stop here' sign in our front garden for our little boy, and I don't know who!! We chat to the neighbours when we see them, but keep ourselves to ourselves generally.
I have made some presents for my next door neighbours (fudge, biscuits etc) for Christmas, (and to say thanks for putting up with all the disruption) but now feel weird about delivering them. Will they think it's too much? Rubbish because home made? Would rather have alcohol? Should I mention the santa sign? I'm totally over thinking I know, so can you help me decide what to do?!

You should definitely do it.
Good neighbours are priceless!
Are you friends with any of them on social media etc? You could just say thanks to the elf who left the sign

Thanks for responding @glitterbiscuits the social media idea is a good idea, but I'm not very active on anything so haven't looked for them. Also one side is very elderly (and the prime suspects for the sign I think) I will put my toddler in his elf outfit and brave it. Just need to get over the nerves. I am 8 months pregnant so putting the nerves down to that 😂

How can doing something nice cause you to question it OP? Go with your initial instincts.

yellowm00n · 20/12/2019 16:33

Aww I would love that! Definitely do it.

Thanks everyone! We went round, the elderly couple put the sign there Xmas Grin and we were invited in the other side for a cup of tea which was lovely. Thanks for the encouragement, I get bogged down with second guessing myself and doubting the right thing to do. I'm so glad it's done!
