I've done something horrible to myself...

So I woke up on Sunday with the most horrific pain in my shoulder. I've had a shoulder problem before (other shoulder) but this time it is like its popping out of joint when I move it a certain way. It's my left arm and I can't drive. Doc says it's a frozen shoulder. All I know is that when I move it in front of me, it locks and loses strength and is so sore I feel like I could vomit. Anyone had anything similar?

Hi @surlycurly - how did your appt go today?

Hello folks. Had the injection and it seems to have helped a wee bit- even drove into town briefly earlier. The anaesthetic element of it seems to have worn off now right enough. My blood work came back ok but my inflammatory markers are high. So that needs to be checked again at some point. Doc has now said he thinks it a tendon issue rather than a frozen shoulder- he's referred me to the rheumatologist because he also thinks there's something else going on. So, quite successful I think. Thank you for asking!

I also had high inflammatory markers when I had the shoulder tendon issue.

@SirVixofVixHall how long did it take to recover from it? The other shoulder took months- I'm hoping this isn't the same!

To be honest it is hard to remember as I was also in a blur of night feeds and no sleep. It did take months and months to not be painful at all, a long time later it would hurt like hell if I tried to pull open a drawer or something, but the initial agonising pain and pain at night did ease up reasonably quickly after I started having acupuncture. I didn’t take painkillers for long, and I had more movement pretty quickly, but I did have to be careful for a long time afterwards. That initial trying to pull my trousers up with one arm etc thing was only about a week.

Thank you that- I'm hoping to be feeling it ease off soon. It would be nice to have a pain free Christmas x

Try and get some acupuncture if you can.
