Anyone got really stupid questions that someone else on here might be able to answer?

I only ask because I have a really stupid question but haven't asked in case you talk about me ...

So if someone else could ask something ridiculous first that would be great!

going concern means the shop is making money, so you aren't just buying the building, you are buying the business and its customers etc as well.

highlandcoo · 18/12/2019 21:56

A "going concern" just means that trading is still happening; so it's not just a building for sale it's an ongoing business.

What is the point of nits?
I swear nit lotion companies have just invented them to sell their products.

Why is there not a word for things that belong to are from New Zealand?

Relatives from there just call stuff from there kiwi. As in if you ask where their bag is from “ it’s kiwi” or ask about a name or comment “it’s just typical kiwi”

and i have definitely seen a full moon in daytime, but to be fair it may have been a very nearly full moon, and it may have been first thing in the morning, I can't remember.

I want to follow up Househunt1 question please. I once googled why does itching feel good and the internet told me that it’s not the itching that felt good it’s the relief when you stop. I’ve tested this extensively and I definitely enjoy the scratch! Often when I stop it’s sore. Are my nerves on backwards or do I call bullshit on the internet.

A going concern means that the business is for sale, eg a if butcher’s shop is for sake as a going concern, the butcher’s business is for sale as well as the bricks and mortar. So you would be buying the butcher’s business and would carry on selling meat, buying the fridges, the freezers, the cold display, maybe taking on the same staff.

A lot of shops rent their premises though, so you might just be buying the business and taking over renting the shop. If a shop closes down, you could buy it or rent the shop and set up your own business, as a bakery for example. So not a going concern.

JoJothesquirrel · 18/12/2019 22:03

And what does cause itches (other than the obvious jumpers, labels and programs about hoarders)

Theaccidentalthief · 18/12/2019 22:08

@Glitterygracie Hi! I regularly do cases that last anywhere from half an hour to 12 hours. I'm not a surgeon but I am scrubbed in with them (trying not to out myself 😂). Anyway we can de scrub to go to the toilet or to have food but I can honestly say I've only done that once and I needed a break from the procedure anyway to 'rejig' my mind. The patient is monitored throughout by either the nurses or if they are under GA then an anaesthetist is present. There is also usually other doctors or junior doctors milling about.

Nursing staff often feed us drinks via a straw (and the odd biscuit if you get on well with them!). Hope that answers your question.

just to let you know the link to the "deed poll office" is a link to a company website selling forms - not an official government website

StealthPolarBear · 18/12/2019 22:09

The lift one is because you are hurtling downwards at (say) 40mph near the bottom. The much smaller speed in the opposite direction does almost nothing to counter it

Knockalockin · 18/12/2019 22:10

OMG at mistletoe. I had to Google it just to see for sure. I'm thought they were old neglected nests 😆.

When you get divorced and dont change your name back to your maiden name, should you refer to yourself as Mrs or Ms and do you need to change it officially to Ms?

What happens with conjoined twins, when one of them committs a crime and has to go to prison?

SantaBeckett · 18/12/2019 22:26

This. Just. Blew. My. Mind.

DadDadDad · 18/12/2019 22:30

@AlaskaElfForGin - I've quickly scrolled through and I don't think anyone's addressed your second phrasing of the question about the danger. If the battery compartment is not watertight, then I think in theory it could fill with water enough to create a circuit to the outside of the compartment which would give you an electric shock if you touched it.

Bellybootcut · 18/12/2019 22:34

Why in cemeteries do you get the occasional grave facing the other direction to all others. Even if it's on the same row so nothing to do with lay if the land?

TheMovingFishfinger · 18/12/2019 22:35

I have always wondered where the contestants go after the trap door opens underneath their feet in game shows like the weakest link. Is there a mattress? A slide? What if they twist an ankle or fall awkardly? Isn't the show risking lawsuits?

Pilipilihoho · 18/12/2019 22:46

Bellybootcut in Anglican cemeteries, vicars are buried the other way round (so they're facing their flock) - or so I've been told Grin

Why does cat food come in every conceivable meat flavour but not pork?

nevergotthehangofturkeys · 18/12/2019 22:57

How do I stop my top 6 notes from disappearing into an undignified squeak when I sing in public?

(Just been to a wonderful carol service where I really wanted to join in like I was at home with nobody listening).
