My 5 year old sees ghosts

I assume this is quite normal behaviour with a certain age , but since my son was 3 he has from time to time mentioned ghosts. I didnt take it any seriously and always told him he needs to ask the ghosts to GO AWAY they are not welcome here.

We moved to a new place 3 years ago as well and I dont know its background more than it's a new build but the previous tenant had to escape because of her ex who was abusive.

Theres nothing unusual about my 2 bedroom flat; there's no ^^weird energy in here and I feel safe here ( I have been living in a basement flat before that had shadows moving and you felt watched all the time) so that's why I question when my son says he sees shadows in the hallway or says ooh look a ghost. Just now ( the reason for me writing) I told him to go to his room because he was naughty and he got really angry and slammed the door and screaming in his room. Ome minute later he just started laughing and jumping on his bed and talking with the ghosts . When I went into his room the door that is just a storage room was open as well and bedding was on the floor. And then he also said he saw his daddy who he has not seen for a few years and I'm not sure he can even remember. We have no contact and I dont know if he's dead or alive? Well anyway is this just a childs wild imagination or has anybody had any experience of this with their kids?

If it gets more serious I will call in for Jesus help. Wink

Sounds like over active imagination to me. My kids all had imaginary friends which is what we called them. Maybe your DC has just linked onto the word ghost to describe his imaginations.

At 3, how would he know they were ghosts? Did they say? Sounds more like imaginary friends to me!

We just moved out of a flat that used to be the cities hospital & was around during the war. We watched a video about the hospital & the floor we lived on was above a mental ward for elderly & the floor we lived on was the nurses offices.

My 2.5 year old would often waking up screaming, pointing at the corner of his room saying "ghost" this was a regular occurrence.
There was a time he was laid on the living room floor and he would just start shouting "stop kicking me, stop kicking me, stop Henry"

We know no one called Henry.
He would go in his room and just start talking to himself and come back in and say he was talking to the ghosts.
Since we've moved he's not mentioned the ghosts.

I hope it's just his imagination running wild cuz I just dont fancy having paranormal activities in my home .

He started talking more when he was 3 and I had never mentioned about ghosts to him before.

One of the staff in his nursery also said he blamed there was a little girl who threw his snack on the floor while he sat on the table alone. I didnt take it seriously of course I just rolled my eyes.

And he has mentioned his dads mother Joy in nursery too and he has never even met her and she passed away when he was just a baby. I've never mentioned about her to him because I hardly knew her unfortunately.

It's just very odd indeed and I haven't told him that there are no ghosts I just tell him that they need to go and leave him alone. Grin
