How do you do the opposite of complain? At Tesco!

Just done a shop for my local food bank and the lad who served me was so kind and patient with me and all the tins that kept rolling around, let me do two transactions because I forgot my card and had to do the £30 limit, and was really lovely and chatty.
I kind of raced out of there to get my Uber but now I would love to let his management know what a star he was, I was basically a nightmare of a customer and he was so laid back and chilled about it. He even pretended to scan a few things when he found out it was for the food bank, but I obviously wouldn’t tell Tesco that!
Does anyone know how I could get in touch, would I just email customer services? He really brightened my day and I really want him to be recognised and rewarded for it!

Message them on facebook, or use the website "contact us".
I've contacted a couple of places when staff have gone above and beyond, and usually get a really nice message back.

JoGose · 13/12/2019 18:00

Could you tweet them

BackforGood · 13/12/2019 18:02

Or actually hand a letter in addressed to 'The Manager' when you next pass, if you aren't on Twitter.

There's probably a feedback address on the receipt.

Flairhead · 13/12/2019 18:09

Email them or contact them on their Facebook or Twitter page. You could call the customer service number too, they can pass it on to the store manager.

mrsbyers · 13/12/2019 18:10

Usually the managers name is on the receipt

mynameisMrG · 13/12/2019 18:12

They can track who served you from your receipt as there is a code at the bottom

Elphame · 13/12/2019 18:20

Careful - if the cashier let you split it into 2 contactless transactions then you could get them into trouble. The contactless rules don't allow that.

fairynick · 13/12/2019 19:00

Thanks for the help guys, I’ll message them on Facebook first because that’s easiest for me!

You can mention it to the manager next time you are in. I did that and the lady I wanted to praise happened to walk past so I pointed her out. The manager grinned and said he knew what a diamond she was as lots of customers kept telling him!!!

Not sure what you mean by pretending to scan a few things but I wouldn't mention that.

Elphame can you explain a bit more please? Why is it not allowed?

AmyFl · 13/12/2019 20:13

Yeah, don't mention pretending to scan the items for the food bank you'll get him into trouble.

Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly · 13/12/2019 20:23

Please don't mention the 2 transactions or you'll most likely get him into big trouble!

NerrSnerr · 13/12/2019 20:31

I'm assuming you shouldn't split transactions so they can go through contactless because of people stealing cards and trying to spend as much as possible before the card is blocked?

I would email, use FB or tell customer services next time you're in (omitting the two transactions)

Undies1990 · 13/12/2019 20:40

Sounds like the cashier, whilst being patient and friendly, broke a couple of rules. You might get him fired so be careful what you say!

DryHeaving · 13/12/2019 21:26

I would go back in and go through his checkout again for just your shopping Then FB praise using the details on the new transaction
