Previous MP was helping me with an issue, now what?

I've had an ongoing issue that our previous MP (Labour) was assisting me with. This has meant several letters and emails going back over the last twelve months or so.
Now we have a new MP (Con) does anyone know what happens with all my communication? Does the new MP's office automatically inherit everything from the previous one or do I need to start again from scratch?

Start from scratch again I'm afraid. But con MP's don't really do case work

Of course Con MPs do casework. What utter tripe. In every party there are good MPs and bad MPs. Let’s get a grip on reality shall we.

You might just have to give them a bit of time to settle in and understand the systems they’re working with. From all accounts the first week or two at the House of Commons is pretty full on for a brand new MP.

Thank you. To be honest the "help" I was receiving was practically non-existent so it's not that big a deal if the new one is no better.

Do they erase all my data, do you know?

Of course they do casework. My husband works for an MP and is very much a part of addressing casework, daily. The casework will be either in paper format of the constituency now to be returned to Westminster or if your previous MP uses the secure online system, it will all be stored on there and handed over. Nothing will be deleted.

I'm not sure about the data, as technically you have given consent for the person themselves to be privvy to it, and not the post. You would hope that there would be some communication sent to those who are in the middle of recieving support, but that might be optimistic. I would maybe send an email and see if they reply and can advise, it takes a while for the dust to settle, but obviously if you need something urgently that isn't good enough. Like anything I've found it depends on the candidate rather than the affiliation to party. The conservative here over the past 2 terms has helped numerous people (not hearsay, I've helped them access the support); but I don't believe that's due to being a con, if that makes sense. Hope it works out okay OP.

Sorry, typo, I mean in the constituency. Members and staff will return to Westminster next week and can begin casework again. They are not allowed to complete casework during an election period as parliament has dissolved.
